    The Whitehaven Maritime Festivals - Every year the town has a Maritime Festival. It takes place on June 25-26 and is timed to coincide with the International Year of the Sea and Nelson's death at the Battle of Trafalgar 200 years ago. Among attractions will be the Utterly Butterly flying circus.
